Chris “Mac” McClure enters histhird year on the coaching staff with the University at Buffalocross country and track and field programs after completing fiveyears as a student-athlete with the Bulls. In the fall 2006 season,McClure sustained an injury which required surgery but led him tovolunteer as an assistant coach for the indoor and outdoor trackand field programs at UB. With collegiate coaching being his careerobjective, McClure emphatically joins the rest of the coachingstaff on their mission of continued success for theBulls.
A five-time co-captain of the men’scross country and track and field teams, McClure’s extensiveteam leadership involvement has stemmed out to other factions ofthe Division of Athletics as well as UB’s general studentpopulation where he served as a Resident and CommunityAdvisor/Assistant for two and a half years as anundergraduate.
McClure’s athletic achievementsincluded two berths in the IC4A Indoor Championships (DistanceMedley Relay in 2005 and 2006, 1,000-meters in 2006), helping setUB’s DMR school record as the leadoff runner in the event.McClure also earned the Coaches Award for cross country in 2005 and2007, as well as the 2007 Christine Dickerson Unsung Hero Award.The Dickerson Award is presented annually by UB’sStudent-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) to recognize anindividual who makes a significant contribution on the court, fieldor in the pool and is recognized for their dedication,unselfishness and contribution to the team.
McClure graduated from the University atBuffalo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in media studies in2007.
