Prior to Buffalo: After a great freshman season at Canisius, Vargas heads across town to join the Buffalo roster after starting in 47 games for the Golden Griffins...On the season, the infielder hit .272 with a .398 slugging and .339 on base percentage...Vargas finished with 28 hits including five doubles, a triple and a pair of home runs...She earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors as she native fashioned a .600 on-base percentage and a 2.000 slugging percentage as she hit a three-run home run in both games of Canisius' doubleheader sweep of regional rival Mercyhurst on March 18...Vargas closed out the week with a walk and an RBI in the Griffs victory over Little Three foe St. Bonaventure on March 20.
