Bulls Host Ball State for Senior Weekend

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball team (24-29, 10-14 MAC) will conclude their regular season this weekend at Nan Harvey Field against the Ball State Cardinals (20-25, 7-17 MAC). First pitch will be on Friday at 2 p.m. for a doubleheader. Senior Day will be on Saturday with the game starting at 1 p.m. Prior to the game at 12:45 p.m., Buffalo will honor their seniors in Abbey Nagel, Lily Lauck and Emily Watters.

ABOUT BALL STATE
Ball State enters the weekend with a 20-25 overall record and 7-17 in MAC play. The Cardinals lead the all-time series with a 32-11 record. Ella Whitney leads the Cardinals with a .364 batting average and a 1.212 OPS. She also has a team-high 55 RBIs and 109 total bases. In the circle, Brinkley Kita leads Ball State with a 4.35 ERA with a 7-7 record. Bridie Murphy has a team-high 50 strikeouts on the year.
ABOUT THE SENIORS
Emily Watters // Pitcher // Camrose, Alberta
A four-year senior, she appeared in 59 games for the Bulls in the circle. Tallying 157 innings pitched, she secured 11 wins in her time in the blue and white. She tossed six complete games in her career, including three shutouts. Against Winthrop on March 9, 2024, she finished with a career-high six strikeouts.
Lily Lauck // Catcher // Lake View, N.Y.
The Buffalo native has been with the program for four years. The catcher appeared in 163 games including 125 starts. In her career, she tallied 72 hits, 12 of which going for extra bases. Lily always found a way to reach base with her .396 on base percentage as her 89 career walks are the second most in program history! Her 37 walks last season set the single season program record. She recorded a pair of three-hit games while having a career-high four RBIs last season against the Bowling Green Falcons. Defensively, she three out 11 runners, 10 of which coming in her junior campaign.
Abbey Nagel // First Base // Averill Park, N.Y.
A four-year starter for the Bulls, she started in all 201 games in her storied career at Buffalo. She is the only Bull in program history to start over 200 games in a four-year span. The first baseman holds the career record for most putouts with over 1,200 as her fielding percentage is also a program record at .994. At the plate, her 43 career doubles ranks third in program history as her 99 RBIs is fourth. Her 14 doubles as a freshman are the fifth most in a single season at UB. In her career, she's tallied the fourth most hits with 189. This season, she tied a career high four hits against Boston U while recording a season-high five RBIs.

- The Bulls have a program record 442 hits this season. Shattering the previous mark set in 2016 with 383. Their 442 hits are third in the MAC and 23rd in college softball.
- Their 307 runs scored this year set the new program record and is 57th in the NCAA.
- Bri Delaney has 15 doubles on the season, the fifth-most in the MAC and 55th in the NCAA.
- The Bulls have 15 triples this season, tied for the most in a single season in program history with the 2016 squad.
- Nicole Allen leads the Bulls with a school record 75 total hits this season. She's 15th in the nation in total hits, good for second in the MAC. Reagan Terwilliger has 63 hits on the season, the second-most in the program history. They're the only Bulls in the 60-hit club.
- Nicole Allen has been stellar from the dish as she holds a .419 batting average, fifth in the MAC.
- Bri Delaney has eight sac flies this season, the third-most in the NCAA.
- Speed demon Reagan Terwilliger set the program record for career triples with 11. She also holds the single season record with six this season.
- Reagan Terwilliger has the second-most runs scored in the conference with 58. She's averaging 1.09 runs per game, good for 50th in the NCAA.
- Bella Smithson leads the team with 12 home runs this season.
- Abbey Nagel and Bella Smithson have hit two grand slams each this season with Bri Delaney adding one of her own. They have now hit 16 grand slams in program history.
- As a team, Buffalo is 74-of-83 on stolen bases this season. Their 74 stolen bases are the second-most in a single season in program history and ranks 42nd in the country.
- Genevieve Longsdorf's three saves are 43rd in the NCAA.
- On the basepaths, Reagan Terwilliger is 30-for-32 on stolen base attempts. Her .938 stolen base percentage is the best in the conference and ninth in college softball. Her 30 stolen bases are 12th in the NCAA. Emily Gorman has 22 stolen bases, good for third in the MAC.
- Abbey Nagel is third in program history with 43 career doubles.
- Bella Smithson has thrown out the most runners in the country this season with 20.
- The Bulls have 283 RBIs this season, the most in a single season in program history. This checks in at 56th in the country and third in the MAC.
