Russ Earns MAC Pitcher of the Week Accolades

CLEVELAND, Ohio – On Wednesday afternoon, the Mid-American Conference announced their weekly honors where Buffalo junior Olivia Russ earned MAC Pitcher of the Week honors.
Olivia Russ was electric in the circle this week as she took home wins over Syracuse and Toledo. She helped the Bulls to go 3-2 on the week. On Tuesday, she tossed a complete game shutout against the Orange. This marked the program's seventh win over a Power 4 team and the first since 2022. At Toledo, she recorded a pair of complete games including a 9-2 win over the Rockets. She finished the week with a 1.69 ERA as she allowed just five runs in 20.2 innings pitched.
This marks her first MAC weekly honor and the program's first Pitcher of the Week since the 2024 season.
Russ and the Bulls are back in action for a three-game series against the Ball State Cardinals starting Friday. They'll have a doubleheader at 2 p.m. on Friday with the final regular season game on Saturday at 1 p.m.
