
The mission of UB’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to strive to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity and leadership, advocating student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image. SAAC will be guided by the following principles: integrity, fairness, ethics, respect for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
Our SAAC will serve as a conduit of communication among student-athletes, coaches and athletic administrators on issues to improve the student-athlete experience and promote growth and education through sports participation. Concerns can be voiced, and solutions offered regarding any issues that may be relevant to Buffalo student-athletes.

- President. The SAAC President is responsible for leading and guiding the entirety of the executive board and the organization. The President should be motivated and prioritize the continuation and growth of SAAC.
- Vice President for Community Outreach. The VP for Community Outreach is a member of the Executive Board and works with SAAC to help reach monthly community outreach goals.
- Vice President for Social Media and Marketing. The VP for Social Media and Marketing helps to run the various social media accounts for SAAC and oversees marketing SAAC sponsored events.
- Vice President for Stampede Spirit. The VP for Stampede Spirit helps to reach monthly goals for spirit and encourage attendance at UB athletic events.
- Vice President for Student Athlete Experience. The VP for Student Athlete Experience oversees the planning of events that will enhance the student-athlete experience.
Two student-athlete representatives from each varsity team will serve as SAAC representatives (men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field will have a total of six representatives, three representing women’s XC/track and field and three representing men’s XC/track and field; football will have a total of three representatives: one offensive, one defensive and one special teams).
Any student-athlete who is not chosen to be one of their team’s SAAC representatives, may apply to be considered to hold an at-large position. SAAC will have three (3) at-large positions and those chosen will serve for one year. The student-athlete will need to reapply for the following year. The student-athlete must be an active member on the team’s roster. No team may have more than 4 representatives. Team and At-Large representatives will be determined in August and September.Representatives must attend the university as a full-time student and be officially listed on a varsity sport squad list. Team representatives will engage as a member of one of the subcommittees to implement initiatives led by the various Vice Presidents.
All student-athletes are more than welcome and encouraged to attend SAAC meetings.
MAC Council of Student-Athletes (COSA).Conference level version of SAAC. Serves as the voice at the conference level and provides feedback on legislation and initiatives for student-athlete welfare and experience. Each MAC institution shall appoint two-member student-athletes to represent the institution on the Committee.

Rules Education
The Office of Compliance will cover NCAA rules education at one meeting in both the fall and spring semesters.
