Bulls Fall to Rockets on Sunday Afternoon

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (9-4, 1-1 MAC) saw their four-match win streak snap to the hands of the reigning MAC Champion Toledo Rockets (10-2, 2-0 MAC) on Sunday afternoon, 28-26, 20-25, 17-25, 17-25.
Hailey Campagna led Buffalo with 12 kills as she had a match-high three solo blocks. Manoela Forlin reached the 1,000 career-kill mark with 11 kills in the match. She also recorded her 15th career double-double as she added 10 digs.
Anaya Cole tallied a match-high 15 digs.
SET 1 | Buffalo squeaked out a first set 28-26 win in a back-and-forth battle that featured 10 ties and five lead changes. The teams traded points deep into extra rallies before Buffalo closed it out on a service ace and an attack error. The Bulls outhit the Rockets, .243 to .156.
SET 2 | Toledo responded immediately in the second set. The Rockets hit .268 and pulled away late for a 25-20 win. With the Rockets leading 20-18, they called a timeout as the Bulls went on a 4-0 run. Toledo held off Buffalo's offense as they tied the match a one set apiece.
SET 3 | Toledo's offense exploded in the third, hitting a match-best .533. Buffalo's offense hit a respectable .364 with 11 kills, but the Rockets tallied seven more kills than the home team. Toledo won the set, 25-17.
SET 4 | The Bulls kept the set close as they trailed 15-13 at the media timeout. Out of the break, Toledo pushed their lead to 20-16 forcing a Buffalo timeout. The Rockets didn't look back as they closed the set on a 5-1 run, taking it 25-17.
The Bulls return to action on Friday for two matches at Miami (OH). Coverage will be on ESPN+.
