UB continued to battle in singles action as Kim won 6-2, 6-1 at third singles, Malkin picked up a 6-1, 6-4 victory at fourth singles and Faiz Nasyam cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win at the fifth position. Mitsakos overcame a dropped first set to win 7-6, 4-6, 10-4 at first singles, Onder Balci battled back from a dropped second set to win 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 at second singles and Cowen Lau picked up his first win as a Bull in a three-set thriller, 6-3, 5-7, 10-6 at six singles.
"Wasn't our best performance of the year, but I am proud of the way we mentally battled to get the win," said head coach Lee Nickell. "Tomorrow will be tough, we need to recover and be ready to execute against a very good Cleveland State team."
