BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's basketball team opens a two-game homestand on Saturday as they welcome Kent State to Alumni Arena for a 12pm contest.
It's the team's Horns Up 4 A Cause game. In coordination with UB's Stronger Together Task Force, players will wear shoelaces and staff will wear ribbons with a color corresponding to a cause that is important to them and to which they want to bring awareness.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Paul Peck (play-by-play) and Matt Mattia (color) announcing and can be heard on AM 1400 and the Varsity Network with Vinnie Christiano III on the call.
This is the 50th overall meeting between Buffalo and Kent State with the Golden Flashes owning a 35-24 series advantage. The teams split a pair of matchups a season ago.
Buffalo dropped its midweek contest at Miami (OH) 76-52 on Wednesday night. Freshman forward Meg Lucas led the Bulls offensively as she recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds to go with three steals. Junior Janyah Bohanon also scored in double figures with 10 points while junior guard Paula Lopez recorded eight points and a team-best five assists and Aniya Rowe added seven points.
