Cross Country To Compete at University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational on Saturday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo cross country program is continuing its regular season at the University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational on Saturday morning. The men's 8k is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and the women's 6k is expected to begin at 11 a.m.
The Buffalo women are coming off a fifth-place finish at the Penn State Spiked Shoe Invite, having four runners place inside the top 50 in the field of 112. The women's program competed against six regionally ranked programs and two nationally ranked programs at the meet, placing ahead of St Joseph's (14th) and Monmouth (15th), who were ranked in the Mid-Atlantic region. Monmouth moved up 11th in the Mid-Atlantic rankings.
The women's field at the Yellowjacket Invite will feature 23 teams, all of which are local to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. The Bulls are expected to have 12 runners compete on the women's side.
The Buffalo men placed seventh of nine teams at the Spiked Shoe Invite. Jacob Brink was the Bulls' top finisher, leading the team in their 5.2-mile race to place 32nd in the field of 107 runners with a time of 25:50.0. The Bulls placed ahead of Temple, the ninth-ranked team from the Mid-Atlantic region in the USTFCCCA preseason poll. The men's field at Penn State featured seven regionally ranked programs and one nationally ranked program.
The men's 8k race at the Yellowjacket Invite will feature 24 teams, all of which are local to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. The Bulls are scheduled to have four runners compete in the 8k.
