BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's soccer head coach Shawn Burke announced the addition of former standout Hannah Callaghan to the coaching staff for the 2025 season.
"We are excited to welcome Hannah back to UB," said Burke. "To have our current players work with a former captain, All-American and MAC champion is invaluable. Hannah's energy and passion for this program will be contagious!"
A two-time All-MAC selection, Callaghan had a decorated career in the blue and white, capped by a special senior season in which she was named an All-American and was an All-Region First Team selection. She helped lead the Bulls to a MAC championship in 2022, earning MAC Tournament MVP honors, as UB extended their unbeaten streak to a program-record 17 matches. As a junior, Callaghan was named the 2021 MAC Defensive Player of the Year, recording two goals and two assists while also helping to lead a strong UB defense to eight clean sheets on the season.
A Rochester, NY native, Callaghan was a standout at Wheatland-Chili high school where she was named New York State Player of the Year and a three-time All-State honoree, leading her team to three Sectional and Regional championships and two State Championships.
Callaghan graduated from UB in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in economics. Following her time at UB, Callaghan has served as an Account Recruiting Manager at Aerotek.
