Bulls Host the Rockets for Final Home Weekend Series

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball team (10-27, 5-11 MAC) will host the Toledo Rockets (13-24, 6-10 MAC) for a three-game series at Nan Harvey Field on Saturday and Sunday. The MACtion will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday with a doubleheader as the series will wrap up at noon on Sunday.
On the season, freshman Emily Gorman leads the Bulls with a .424 batting average with a team-high 39 hit. Gorman also leads the team with a .518 on base percentage, but Lily Lauck is just behind with a .471 percentage. Lauck has a team-high 28 walks. Freshman Isabella Smithson has been the team's RBI leader this season as she is up to 25. Abbey Nagel leads the team with 13 extra base hits with 10 doubles and 3 home runs as Mia Mitchell has 12 extra base hits including a pair of triples.
The Bulls are coming off a split doubleheader at Kent State on Wednesday. The Golden Flashes took game one, 11-4, but the Bulls bounced back with a 7-4 victory. In the second game, Genevieve Longsdorf went the distance in the circle for the Bulls. Nagel went 3-for-4 from the plate with a pair of runs scored as both Isabella Smithson and Ava Thelen had 2 hits each.
Buffalo vs. Toledo
SERIES: Toledo leads, 21-16
STREAK: Toledo 3
NOTES: the Rockets have gotten the best of the Bulls over the last three games including four of the last five. Toledo swept the season series last year in Toledo to close out the season, 3-1, 2-1, and 5-4. Buffalo's last win over the Rockets came on March 24, 2023, in a 7-2 decision.
