Bulls Travel to Kent State for Midweek Doubleheader

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball team (9-26, 4-10 MAC) will travel to Kent State (7-31, 0-14 MAC) for a doubleheader on Wednesday. The MACtion will begin at 1 p.m. at Devine Diamond.
On the season, freshman Emily Gorman leads the Bulls with a .424 batting average with a team-high 39 hits and 22 runs scored. Gorman also leads the team with a .518 on base percentage, but Lily Lauck is just behind with a .464 percentage. Lauck has a team-high 27 walks. Isabella Smithson leads the team with 25 RBIs. Abbey Nagel leads the team with 13 extra base hits with 10 doubles and 3 home runs as Mia Mitchell has 12 extra base hits including a pair of triples.
The Bulls are coming off a series loss to the Northern Illinois Huskies last weekend. The Bulls came out to take the first game, 3-1, but then fell in the final two games, 5-3 and 20-2. In the win, Abbey Nagel had a day at the plate as she went 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and a solo home run. She was responsible for all of the runs as she had 3 RBIs. Genevieve Longsdorf went the distance in the circle, allowing a run on 6 hits while striking out 5 Huskies. This was her first career collegiate victory.
Buffalo vs. Kent State
SERIES: Kent State leads, 37-16
STREAK: Buffalo 1
NOTES: Buffalo has won two of the last three meetings against the Golden Flashes. The Bulls and Golden Flashes met on April 16, 2024, in Buffalo. Kent State took game one, 6-1, but the Bulls bounced back with a 2-1 victory. In the previous season, the Bulls won the second game of the doubleheader, 2-0.
