Bulls Begin Conference Play Friday as they Host Bowling Green

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball team (3-16, 0-0 MAC) will open Mid-American Conference play this weekend with a three-game series against the Bowling Green Falcons (5-15, 0-0 MAC) at Nan Harvey Field. The series will begin on Friday at 3 p.m. followed by a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday. All three games will be streamed on the Bulls' YouTube channel.
Last weekend the Bulls participated in the Marshall March Madness Tournament in Huntington, W.Va. On the season, freshman Emily Gorman leads the Bulls with a .404 batting average with a team-high 23 hits and 12 runs scored. Lily Lauck has a team-best .492 on base percentage with 13 hits, 16 walks and a hit by pitch. Isabella Smithson leads the team with 14 RBIs. Abbey Nagel and Mia Mitchell lead the team with 5 doubles apiece as Mitchell has a team-high 3 home runs.
Buffalo vs. Bowling Green
SERIES: Bowling Green leads, 33-23.
STREAK: Buffalo 1
NOTES: The Bulls and Falcons met last season for a three-game series in Bowling Green, Ohio. The Bulls came away with a 3-0 win in the first game of the series as Abbey Nagel, Reagan Terwilliger and Hannah McGonigle all came around to score. The Bulls fell short in the second game of the series. The Falcons took a 5-0 lead, but Buffalo managed to score four straight runs to make it 5-4. Neither team scored the rest of the way as the Falcons tied the series. In the deciding game, the Bulls blew out the Falcons in a five inning 13-2 win. They tallied 12 hits, seven of which went for extra bases.
