Bulls Fall to Georgia State in MAC-SBC Challenge Return Game, 80-75

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (7-17, 2-8 MAC) fell to the Georgia State Panthers (10-15, 5-7 SBC) on Saturday afternoon, 80-75.
The sophomore duo of Ryan Sabol and Bryson Wilson recorded 13 points and 5 rebounds apiece. Sabol struggled on the day as he was just 3-for-18 from the floor and 1-for-12 from deep. Tyson Dunn added 11 points, 6 boards and 5 assists. Off the bench, Omar Migues-Hibeljic scored 10 points. Ben Michaels nearly had his first career double-double with 8 points and 10 rebounds.
Buffalo's 72 attempted field goals were a season high as they had 70 attempted shots at Notre Dame (11/11/24).
It was a low scoring affair at the start as just over 7-minutes in, the Panthers led 9-7. At the halfway mark of the opening 20-minutes, the Bulls tied the game at 13 after a Michaels' layup. This was the last time the Bulls were tied with the Panthers on the afternoon. Georgia State took a 38-31 lead into the locker room.
After being down by as much as 15 in the second half, the Bulls made a run to cut the Panthers' lead to 61-55 with 9:19 to go. Georgia State held off Buffalo until the final two-minutes of the game. With the Panthers leading, 73-59, the Bulls closed the game on a 16-7 run and made it a three-point game with just 20-seconds to go. Buffalo's comeback fell short as the Panthers took the contest, 80-75.
The Bulls are back in action on Tuesday at Northern Illinois with tip-off set for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
