Bulls Resume MAC Play at Ohio on Saturday

BUFFALO, NY β The University at Buffalo women's basketball team (19-4, 8-3 MAC) returns to Mid-American Conference play as they travel to Athens for a clash with the Ohio Bobcats on Saturday.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Marty Bannister (play-by-play) and Kate Cummings (color) announcing and can be heard on 1400 AM and the Varsity Network with Jack Kreuzer on the call.
This is the 52nd overall meeting between Buffalo and Ohio with the Bulls owning a 30-21 series advantage. The Bulls defeated the Bobcats 72-55 on January 22.
Buffalo fell at Coastal Carolina in the second game of the MAC-SBC Challenge at the HTC Center on Saturday afternoon. The Bulls were led offensively by Chellia Watson who scored a game-high 21 points to go with eight rebounds and Kirsten Lewis-Williams who flirted with a triple-double, recording 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
The Bulls, one of two MAC teams ranked in the top 15 of the Mid-Major Top 25, are led offensively by Watson who is averaging 20.1 points per game. Lewis-Williams is averaging 13.8 points per game while leading the team in rebounding (6.0 rpg) and Noelani Cornfield is also averaging in double figures at 10.5 ppg, while leading the team and ranking 26th nationally in assists per game (5.3).
As a team, the Bulls lead the league in scoring margin (+16.7), 3FG defense (.263) and turnover margin (+8.2) while also ranking in the top three in scoring offense (75.0), scoring defense (58.4), field goal percentage (.449), assists (16.2), steals per game (10.5) and free throw percentage (.768).
The Ohio Bobcats are 4-18 overall, and 2-9 in league play, after falling 58-46 at Southern Miss on Saturday. The Bobcats are led offensively by Kennedi Watkins who is averaging 15.2 ppg. Bailey Tabeling is also averaging in double figures (11.7 ppg) while also leading the team in rebounding (4.7 rpg). Watkins has scored in double figures in 15 games, including six 20+ point performances. Tabeling, a 2024 All-Freshman Team selection, is averaging a team-high 31.1 minutes per contest. She leads the team in assists (53), steals (45) and three-pointers made (46) while also ranking 11th nationally in three-point attempts (181).
The Bobcats lead the MAC and rank 14th nationally in three-point field goals attempted per game (26.7) while ranking fourth in the league in threes made per game (7.3) and fifth in steals per game (8.4).
