Bulls Host Kent State on National TV on Friday

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (5-9, 0-2 MAC) will host the Kent State Golden Flashes (10-4, 1-1 MAC) on Friday evening. Tip-off will be at 6 p.m. on CBSSN with Alex Del Barrio and BJ Taylor on the call. Josh Whetzel and Bob Gaughan will be on the radio call on the Varsity Network or on the radio on Buffalo 1520/Rochester 1280.

LAST TIME OUT
In their last game on Tuesday, the Bulls fell to the MAC preseason favorite Ohio Bobcats, 88-79. Tyson Dunn led the team with 21 points as he knocked down a career-high 5 three-pointers. Both Ben Michaels and Ryan Sabol each scored 15 points. Anquan Boldin Jr. added 12 points in the loss.

Ben Michaels played a career-high 34:41 on Tuesday evening that led to a career-high 15 points.

Tuesday evening marked the third time this season that Tyson Dunn led the team in points (21), rebounds (5) and assists (8) in a game this season. He also did so against Old Dominion (Nov. 4th – 24 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists) and Morgan State (Nov. 22nd - 22 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists). With his 4 steals against Ohio, it was the second time this year he led the team in points, rebounds, assists and steals.

ABOUT THE SERIES
This will be the 62^nd all-time meeting between the Bulls and Golden Flashes. Kent State leads the all-time series, 39-22. In conference play, the Golden Flashes hold a 32-20 lead. Buffalo Head Coach George Halcovage III is 0-2 against Kent State as Head Coach Rob Senderoff is 14-15 against the Bulls.

The Bulls are 223-233 (.489) all-time in MAC games. In home MAC games, the Bulls are 134-94 (.588).

THE BULL-ETIN BOARD
• Buffalo's 59 second half points on Tuesday against Ohio were their most since Feb. 7, 2023, when they scored 58 in the second half against the Eastern Michigan Eagles.

• Ryan Sabol has made 42 three-pointers on the season that ranks him second in the MAC and 65^th in the country. His 3.00 three-pointers per game is second in the MAC and 43^rd in the nation. He is shooting 42.9% from deep on the season, good for 44^th in college basketball and third in the MAC.

• Ryan Sabol has scored a team-high 231 points on the season, good for one of the best scorers in the conference. His 16.5 points per game is fourth in the MAC. He is 20 points away from matching his 2023-24 freshman season point total.

• Tyson Dunn's 80 total assists is 37^th in the country and first in the MAC. His 5.7 assists per game is 31^st in all of college basketball and the best mark in the MAC.

• The Bulls are 5-0 on the season when they score at least 80 points.

• The Bulls are second in the MAC and 51^st in the country in fastbreak points per game with 14.07.
