Bulls Fall to Wright State, 3-1

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (3-5, 0-0 MAC) lost to the Wright State Raiders (5-2, 0-0 Horizon) on Friday evening, 3-1 (17-25, 25-23, 16-25, 18-25).
The Bulls struggled to get the offense in a consistent rhythm on the day against Wright State. The Raiders outhit the Bulls, .305 to .161. The Raiders also totaled 77 points to the Bulls' 50.0.
Maria Futey finished with 22 digs on the day. Abby Leigh finished with nine kills and an attack percentage of .304, a team high. Katrin Trebichavska and Manoela Forlin finished with 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
The Bulls and Raiders were within striking distance of one another up until they were tied at 16. Unfortunately, momentum swung toward Wright State as they finished the set on a 9-1 run.
In the second set, the Bulls were able to hang on to take the set, 25-23. Losing by as much as five points, the Bulls rallied with great offense from Abby Leigh and Katrin Trebichavska who hit .429 and .417, respectively.
The Raiders shut down the Bulls offense in the third and fourth sets as they hit a combined .112. The Wright State offense could do no wrong as they totaled 36 points in those sets.
The Bulls are back in action tomorrow at 5 p.m. against the Ohio State Buckeyes (3-2, 0-0 Big Ten).
