Reyes Called Up to Ecuadorian Youth National Team

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's soccer sophomore midfielder Ashley Reyes has earned a call-up to the Ecuadorian Youth National Team as they attempt to qualify for the U20 FIFA Women's World Cup.
Reyes appeared in all 18 games for the Bulls this season, earning three starts. She scored one goal and added two assists.
"I just want to thank God for this incredible opportunity that He has blessed me with," said Reyes. "I'm incredibly honored and thrilled to represent my country at the youth national level. Representing my country and playing for the Ecuadorian Youth National Team has always been a dream of mine and I am very excited and ready to give it my all and make every moment count."
For the 2024 edition of the World Cup, the field expanded from 16 to 24 teams, with 20 teams out of 24 having already qualified. Reyes and Ecuador aim to secure one of the four spots allocated to CONMEBOL. Qualifying competition takes place from April 11-May 5.
The FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup 2024 will take place in Colombia from August 31-September 22.
