Bulls Host the Ohio Bobcats for Senior Weekend

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo softball team (15-25, 7-12 MAC) will host the Ohio Bobcats (23-22, 11-8 MAC) for Senior Weekend. Due to Saturday's weather, the Bulls and Bobcats will now play a doubleheader on Friday starting at 1 p.m. Weather permitting, Saturday's game will start at 1 p.m.
The team will honor their six seniors: Carina Catalano, Sara Kelly, Tianna Williams, Julia Tarantino, Madison Fernimen and Alexis Lucyshyn.
The Bulls are 18-40 (.310) all-time against the Bobcats. The Bulls have won four of the last six meetings against the Bobcats, including spoiling the Bobcats' senior day last season and eliminating them from MAC Tournament contention.
Buffalo enters the weekend with a 15-25 record and are 7-12 in MAC play. Last weekend the Bulls won their road series at Northern Illinois behind Julia Tarantino's fabulous performances in the circle. The Bulls are being led offensively by Madison Fernimen with a .294 batting average, 37 hits and 25 runs scored. Mia Mitchell has hit the long ball seven times on the season. Alexis Lucyshyn leads the team with 24 RBIs.
In the circle, Lucyshyn is 8-11 with a 3.61 ERA as she has struck out 134 batters in 116.1 innings pitched.
The Bobcats are 23-22 on the season and hold an 11-8 conference record. Ohio fell to the Pittsburgh Panthers last night, 5-4. Offensively, they're led by Tori O'Brien who holds a .333 batting average, 42 hits while scoring 21 runs. Yasmine Logan leads the team with 34 RBIs. Skipp Miller is 13-14 in the circle with a 2.83 ERA with 90 strikeouts.
Following this weekend's series, the Bulls will face Big 4 Rival Canisius for a doubleheader on Wednesday.
