Bulls Host Central Michigan on GameChangeHER Night at Alumni Arena on Wednesday

BUFFALO, NY β The University at Buffalo women's basketball team (16-11, 9-7 MAC) opens the final week of the regular season on Wednesday as they welcome Central Michigan to Alumni Arena for a 6pm contest.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Paul Peck (play-by-play) and Matt Mattia (color) announcing and can be heard on the radio on 1520 AM or on the Varsity Network with Jack Kreuzer on the call.
This is the 37th overall meeting between Buffalo and Central Michigan with the Chippewas owning a slim 19-17 series advantage. The Bulls defeated the Chippewas in the first meeting of the year in Mount Pleasant.
Buffalo saw their two-game win streak come to an end in a 67-59 loss at Kent State on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Kirsten Lewis-Williams led the Bulls offensively with 17 points to go with five rebounds and five steals. Senior Chellia Watson scored 16 points on the day while fellow senior Rana Elhusseini also scored in double figures with 12 points to go with six rebounds and four assists.
Watson, a five-time MAC Player of the Week, leads the league and ranks fourth in the nation in scoring at 22.8 points per game to go with 5.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per contest. She also ranks in the top 15 nationally in field goals made (238), field goals made per game (8.8) and total points (616). Lewis-Williams currently ranks 12th in the MAC in scoring (12.1 ppg) and 16th in rebounding (5.2 rpg), which is first and third, respectively, among all rookies in the league in those categories. Elhusseini (8.7 ppg, 3.4 apg) and sophomore Hattie Ogden (7.8 ppg, 4.7 rpg) continue to be impact players for UB while Alexis Davis leads the Bulls in rebounding (6.2 rpg).
As a team, Buffalo leads the MAC in field goal defense (.382) and three-point field goal defense (.273) while also ranking in the top four in the league in scoring defense (62.0), scoring margin (+4.0) and free throw percentage (.730). The Bulls are averaging 33 points per game in the paint while also turning defense into offense, averaging 14 points per contest off opponent's turnovers.
The Central Michigan Chippewas are 6-20 overall and 4-11 in league action after falling to Ohio 77-63 on Saturday. The Chippewas are led offensively by Karrington Gordon who is averaging 9.6 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. Rochelle Norris (8.1 ppg, 8.0 rpg), Capria Brown (8.1 ppg) and Nadege Jean (8.0 ppg) are also main contributors. Gordon has scored in double figures 13 times this season, including a season-best 23 points against the Bulls in the first meeting of the year.
Central Michigan is second in the MAC with 3.8 blocks per game, which ranks 90th among NCAA I programs. Norris is second in the league in blocks per game (1.5) and total blocks (40). CMU leads the MAC in three rebounding categories this season: rebounds per game (42.5), offensive rebounds per game (14.4) and rebounding margin (+6.2), with the first two ranking in the top-40 in the nation. They also rank second in defensive rebounds per contest (28.1). The Chippewas have outrebounded their opponent in 19 of 26 games this season, including a season-high 56 rebounds in the win over Miami (OH).
