Bulls can’t Keep Pace with the Georgia Bulldogs

ATHENS, Ga. – It was an uphill battle out of the gate for the University at Buffalo men's basketball team (5-6, 0-0 MAC) as they fell into a 23-0 hole to start the game against the Georgia Bulldogs (10-1, 0-0 SEC). Georgia went on to win, 100-49.
Headed into the game, the Bulldogs ranked in the nation's top-50 in 11 statistical categories including fourth in blocks per game (6.1) and sixth in rebounding margin (+11.7). Their tough defense stifled the Bulls' offense to shoot just 21.1% from three-point range. Buffalo managed just 4 threes on the night, their first game of the season where they failed to make 5 threes.
Ryan Sabol knocked down his 100th career three-pointer in the second half. He's now the fastest player in program history to reach this milestone as he did so in 42 games. He broke Zach Filzen's (2009-12) record of 45 games. Sabol has now made a three in 17 consecutive games dating back to last season.
All 13 Bulls who entered the game scored as Tyson Dunn led the team with 9 points. Tim Oboh and Frederiks Meinarts led the team with 4 rebounds each.
The Bulls are back in action on Sunday, Dec. 29 when they travel to Philadelphia to play the Temple Owls (7-4, 0-0 AAC). The game will be aired on ESPNU with tip-off at 3 p.m.
