Bulls Can’t Get by Ohio

ATHENS, Ohio – The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (14-15, 10-6 MAC) fell to the Ohio Bobcats (14-13, 10-6 MAC) on Saturday afternoon, 3-0 (23-25, 19-25, 20-25).
The Bobcats were aggressive at the net as they totaled 10 blocks to Buffalo's 3. On the attack, Ohio outhit the Bulls, .330 to .161.
Katrin Trebichavska led the Bulls with 13 kills.
The first set was a set of runs between the Bobcats and Bulls. After Buffalo led 2-1, Ohio went on a 4-0 run to take a 5-2 lead. Buffalo managed a 4-0 run to tie the set at 12. After holding an 18-16 lead, the Bobcats went on a 4-0 run to take a 20-18 lead. The Bulls tied the set at 22, but the Bobcats went on to win, 25-23.
In the second set, after leading 4-3, the Bulls never retained the lead. Ohio kept the lead as they won, 25-19. In the third set, Ohio's offense had their best hitting percentage of the say at .429. The Bulls' offense could only muster a .122 hitting percentage. Down by as much as five, the Bulls made a comeback as they tied the set four times. Tied at 20, Ohio closed the set on a 5-0 run to win, 25-20.
The Bulls are back in action on Friday when they host the Eastern Michigan Eagles.
