Bulls Fall to the Bobcats

ATHENS, Ohio – The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (14-14, 10-5 MAC) fell to the Ohio Bobcats (13-13, 9-6 MAC) on Friday evening, 3-1 (10-25, 26-24, 24-26, 21-25).
Ohio outhit Buffalo, .223 to .149 on the night. Katrin Trebichavska led the Bulls with 13 kills. At the net, the Leigh sisters, Mandy Leigh and Abby Leigh, totaled 9 blocks on the Bobcats' attack. M. Leigh recorded her 11th double-double of the season with 32 assists and 15 digs.
The Bobcats had their way in the first set as they won, 25-10. The Bulls were limited to a -.045 hitting percentage as the Bobcats hit .545. The momentum was never with the Bulls as they had to burn a timeout down 4-0.
Buffalo bounced back in the second set as they won, 26-24. The Bulls rattled off five straight points to take the set.
In the third set, the Bulls used a 4-0 run to take a 21-19 lead. Unfortunately, Ohio then went on a 4-0 run of their own to take a 23-19 lead. Buffalo fought off three set points, but couldn't hold off the Bobcats as they won the set, 26-24.
The Bulls failed to take a lead in the fourth set, but down the stretch they managed to make it 20-19. Ohio then closed the set outscoring the Bulls, 5-2.
The Bulls will play the Bobcats tomorrow for their final road match of the regular season.
