Bulls Travel to Bowling Green For Final Road Game of Regular Season on Saturday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's basketball team travels to Bowling Green for a clash with the Falcons in their final road game of regular season on Saturday at 1pm.
With three games remaining in the regular season, Bowling Green sits in a three-way tie for first place in the MAC standings, while the Bulls are on the outside looking up in the push to qualify for postseason play in Cleveland.
The game will be streamed on ESPN3 with Brad Woznicki (play-by-play) and Samantha Momeyer (color) announcing and can be heard on the radio on AM 1400 or on the Varsity Network with Jack Kreuzer on the call.
This is the 50th overall meeting between Buffalo and Bowling Green with the Falcons owning a 28-21 series advantage. The Bulls battled hard but ultimately came up one possession short in a three-point loss to the Falcons a month ago.
The Bulls dropped their fourth straight contest by five points or less, this time at Eastern Michigan on Thursday. Fifth year guard Re'Shawna Stone scored a game-high 17 points to go with eight rebounds and five assists while Jazmine Young and Hattie Ogden added 12 points each.
Stone is leading the Bulls in scoring at 16.8 ppg and has scored in double figures in 19 of the last 20 games while adding 5.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest. She has elevated her game in MAC play as she ranks second in scoring (20.0 ppg), fourth in field goal percentage (.534) and fifth in assists per game (3.9). Zakiyah Winfield leads the team in rebounding and assists at 10.2 rpg and 3.9 apg while ranking second on the team in scoring at 14.6 ppg and has recorded 13 double-doubles on the season. She is the top rebounding guard in the nation and ranks in the top 20 in the nation in double-doubles, rebounds per game and defensive rebounds per game. Young is having a career year, scoring in double figures in 20 of 24 games and averaging 13.7 points and 1.6 assists per contest. The Bulls rank in the top half of the MAC in field goal percentage (43.2), assists per game (13.1), turnover margin (+0.5), assist-to-turnover ratio (+1.0) and scoring defense (65.5).
The Bowling Green Falcons are 24-3 overall and 13-2 in the MAC after defeating Central Michigan 80-72 on Wednesday. They are 10-1 at the Stroh Center this season. BGSU is currently tied for first in the MAC standings. They clinched a trip to Cleveland with their win over Kent State and will be no worse than the number four seed in the tournament. Senior guard Elissa Brett leads the Falcons in scoring at 14.3 ppg. BGSU is balanced offensively as Allison Day (12.5 ppg), Nyla Hampton (11.5 ppg, 3.4 apg), Morgan Sharps (10.4 ppg) and Jocelyn Tate (10.2 ppg, 6.3 rpg) are also scoring in double figures. Hampton leads the MAC and ranks 13th in the nation in steals per game (3.0) and is 11th in total steals (82) and is shooting 50.6% from the field. The Falcons are currently 11th in the nation in scoring offense (79.8 ppg). They have topped the 90-point mark six times this season – including three contests with over 100 points – and BG has scored at least 70 points in 22 of 27 games. BGSU is ranked second in the nation in turnover margin (+9.2) and eighth in assist/turnover ratio (+1.4) while also ranking 17th in assists per game (17.1). The Falcons average 24 points per game off opponent's miscues.
