Bulls Welcome Miami (OH) to Alumni Arena on Saturday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's basketball team looks to get back on track as they welcome the Miami (OH) RedHawks to Alumni Arena on Saturday for a 2pm contest.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Paul Peck (play-by-play) and Matt Mattia (color) announcing and can be heard on the radio on ESPN 1520 AM or on the Varsity Network with Jack Kreuzer on the call.
This is the 49th overall meeting between Buffalo and Miami (OH) with the Bulls owning a 28-20 series advantage. The Bulls have won 14 straight meetings against the RedHawks, most recently an 81-76 win at Millett Hall on February 1.
Fifth year guard Re'Shawna Stone put on a show for the fans inside Alumni Arena, scoring a career-high 36 points, but UB's game-tying shot attempt in the final seconds missed the mark as Kent State escaped with a three-point win on Wednesday. Zakiyah Winfield joined Stone in double figures, recording her 13th double-double of the year with 14 points and 10 rebounds while dishing out a team-best five assists.
Stone is leading the Bulls in scoring at 16.5 ppg and has scored in double figures in 17 of the last 18 games while adding 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest. She has elevated her game in MAC play as she ranks third in scoring (20.0 ppg), fourth in field goal percentage (.534) and fifth in assists per game (3.8). Winfield leads the team in rebounding and assists at 10.3 rpg and 3.9 apg while ranking second on the team in scoring at 15.0 ppg and has recorded 13 double-doubles on the season. She is the top rebounding guard in the nation and ranks in the top 20 in the nation in double-doubles, rebounds per game and defensive rebounds per game. Jazmine Young is having a career year, scoring in double figures in 18 of 22 games and averaging 13.7 points and 1.6 assists per contest. The Bulls rank in the top half of the MAC in field goal percentage (43.4), assists per game (13.0), turnover margin (+0.4) and assist-to-turnover ratio (+0.9).
The Miami (OH) RedHawks are 9-17 overall and 4-9 in the MAC after falling at Central Michigan 83-80 on Wednesday. Sophomore Ivy Wolff leads the RedHawks in scoring and assists at 16.8 ppg and 3.7 apg. Peyton Scott (15.2 ppg) and Maddi Cluse (14.6 ppg, 7.5 rpg) are also scoring in double figures. All three are ranked in the top 15 in the MAC in scoring and account for 68% of Miami's offense. Wolf is fifth in the MAC in scoring (16.8) and eighth in assists (3.7). She has scored 20+ points in eight games this year. She also leads the MAC and ranks eighth in the nation in free throw percentage (90.8%). Cluse currently ranks 12th in the MAC in scoring (14.6 ppg) and sixth in rebounding (7.5). She has recorded seven double-doubles and one triple-double this season. Scott was named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Preseason Award Watch List. She ranks fourth all-time on Miami's scoring list with 1,790 career points.
The RedHawks get to the free throw line more than any other team in the MAC. Through 27 games Miami has attempted 505 (19.4/game) free throws this season. They also make them at a high clip, making 14.8 per game and shooting 76.4%. Miami is having its best season shooting under head coach DeUnna Hendrix, shooting 42.1% from the floor and 33.6% from behind the arc, both ranking in the top five in the MAC.
