Robertson Named to United Soccer Coaches Defenders to Watch List

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo senior Payton Robertson was named to the NCAA Division I Women's Players to Watch list on Monday.
The Toronto, Ontario native was one of 35 Division I defenders named to the watch list. She is one of two representatives from the Mid-American Conference with Kent State's Tianna Harris joining her on the list.
The list includes United Soccer Coaches All-Americans and first or second team All-Region players from 2021, who are scheduled to return for the 2022 season.
Robertson earned Second Team All-Midwest Region and All-MAC First Team honors as a junior. The Toronto, Ontario native rarely came off the field for the Bulls this season, making her impact known on both ends of the field. She led the team in tackles, aerial duals and interceptions while helping lead the UB defense to eight clean sheets on the season and a goals against average of 0.96. Robertson was a major factor on set pieces, with her lone goal of the year being a game-winning header off a corner kick to lead the Bulls to a double overtime win over Central Michigan in the MAC Tournament quarterfinals.

Robertson and the Bulls will open the 2022 fall season at UB Stadium against Binghamton on August 18 at 7pm.
