
Bulls Defeat Toledo In Thrilling 4-3 Decision

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team won its second straight match on Friday as the Bulls claimed a 4-3 victory over Toledo at the Miller Tennis Center. The victory was Buffalo's third in Mid-American Conference play.
UB won the doubles point, which would end up being the difference in the match. The Rockets won at first doubles, but UB claimed the last two by identical 6-3 scores. Greg Hastings and Finn Macnamara scored the win at two, while Simon Wibler and Daniils Snaiders won at three.
In singles action, the Bulls and the Rockets split the six matches. A 6-1, 6-2 win from Hastings at fifth singles gave the Bulls the 2-0 advantage before Toledo got on the board with a win at sixth singles. UB and Toledo split the next two matches as the Rockets won at first singles and Wibler won for UB at third singles, 7-6 (6), 6-0, as UB pulled ahead 3-2 in the match.
The Rockets won in a third set at second singles to tie the match up at 3-3, as the contest came down to fourth singles with Snaiders and Toledo's Cole Shoults. After Snaiders won the opening set 6-4, Shoults came back with a 6-1 win in the second. In the third set, Snaiders scored an early break to pull ahead as he ended up breaking Shoults twice in the set en route to a 6-2 win, sending the Bulls to victory.
For Toledo this was just their third MAC loss and their first to a team other than MAC-leading Western Michigan.
The Bulls will close out the regular season on Sunday at home against Ball State.
