Bulls Drop Series Finale; Take Two of Three From Bobcats

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo softball team dropped the series finale to Ohio on Saturday afternoon, but overall, the Bulls took the series against the Bobcats to begin conference play.
The Bobcats broke a scoreless tie with three in the third and one in the fourth. Buffalo got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning on doubles from Alexis Lucyshyn and Madison Fernimen to pull the Bulls within 4-1.
Ohio then scored one in the fifth and erupted for five in the sixth to take the 10-1 lead. UB added one in the bottom of the sixth as it was Lucyshyn and Fernimen again. Lucyshyn doubled to center to open the inning and she came home on a Fernimen sacrifice fly.
Brianna Castro joined Lucyshyn with a multi-hit game as they combined for four of the seven hits for the Bulls. Lucyshyn did pick up the loss in the circle for UB.
Buffalo returns to action next weekend when they open a three-game series on Friday at Toledo.
