
Bulls Open Homestand With Clash Against Western Michigan on Monday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's basketball team returns home to Alumni Arena for a pair of contests this week, beginning with a game against Western Michigan on Monday, February 7 at 7pm.
The game will be streamed on ESPN3 with Paul Peck (play-by-play) and Kevin Sylvester (color) announcing and can be heard on the radio on ESPN 1520 AM or on the Varsity Network with Matt Mattia on the call.
This is 28th meeting between Buffalo and Western Michigan with the Bulls owning the narrow 15-12 series advantage. The Bulls are 6-4 in the last 10 games against the Broncos. Buffalo defeated WMU 87-66 at Alumni Arena last season.
Buffalo is 14-7 overall and 8-3 in league play after defeating Central Michigan 82-74 at McGuirk Arena on Saturday. Five Bulls scored in double figures and UB outscored the Chippewas 20-12 in the fourth quarter. Junior guard Dyaisha Fair led all scorers with 29 points to go with five assists and three steals. Summer Hemphill recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 17 points and a season-high 15 rebounds and freshman Saniaa Wilson recorded the first double-double of her career with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman guard Georgia Woolley added 14 points to go with six rebounds and five assists and Dominique Camp also scored in double figures with 10 points.
Fair leads the Bulls and ranks seventh in the nation in scoring at 22.3 points per game. Hemphill is averaging just under a double-double with 14.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game while Woolley has scored in double figures in 15 of the last 16 games and is averaging 13.2 points per game, the best amongst all rookies in the league. Buffalo is distributing the basketball at an excellent clip, averaging 15.4 assists per game and a 1.1 assist-to-turnover ratio, both ranking in the top 50 nationally while also ranking 60th with a +3.2 turnover margin. That leads to a potent offense which ranks 26th in the nation in scoring (75.2 ppg). The Bulls are ranked 74th in the latest NET rankings. They are also ranked 23rd in the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 poll.
