Bulls Close Out Nonconference Play at Michigan State on Friday Evening

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (6-6, 0-0 MAC) will play the Michigan State Spartans (8-4, 1-1 Big Ten) on Friday evening at the Breslin Center. The game will tip-off at 6 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
The Bulls are coming off a 129-62 win over SUNY Canton. In the contest, Devin Ceaser scored a career-high 25 points, finishing 11-of-14 from the floor. Seven Bulls reached double-figures in the game. Underclassmen Kuluel Mading and Isaac Jack both recorded double-doubles. Both players finished with career-highs in points and rebounds. Jack grabbed 13 boards while scoring 16 points, as Mading snatched 11 rebounds and added 14 points.
As a team, the Bulls set three program records. The 129 points scored broke a 35-year-old record of 120 points. The team was lights out from the floor as they made 70.4% of their shots. This led to them making 50 field goals.
Buffalo is 6-0 this season when they score at least 80 points. Leading the Bulls in scoring is sophomore guard Curtis Jones. Jones is averaging 14.8 points per game while shooting at a rate of 46.9%, good for sixth in the MAC.
In transition, the Bulls are fifth in the nation in fastbreak points, averaging 18.75 per game.
The Michigan State Spartans are 8-4 on the season and 4-1 at home. Graduate forward Joey Hauser leads the team in both points and rebounds as he's ninth in the Big Ten in rebounding (7.1 rpg) and 15th in scoring (14.1 ppg). The Spartans are second in the Big Ten in three-point percentage, shooting at a rate of 37.7%.
After Friday, the Bulls will open conference play on Tuesday, Jan. 3 against the Ohio Bobcats. Tip-off from Alumni Arena will be at 7 p.m.
