Bulls Battle Boston College in First Round of the NIVC

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (19-13, 10-8 MAC) will face the Boston College Eagles (19-13, 7-11 ACC) in their first Division I postseason tournament in program history. The match will take place in the Margot Connell Recreation Center starting at 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2. It will be streamed on the ACC Network. Boston College will host Buffalo, Binghamton, and St. John's in the regional.
The Bulls are coming off a semifinal appearance at the MAC Tournament, the farthest the program has ever gone in the tournament. After taking down No. 3-seed Ohio, 3-1, Buffalo fell to No. 2-seed Bowling Green, 3-0.
Mandy Leigh earned All-MAC First Team honors with Abby Leigh and Courtney Okwara earning All-MAC Second Team honors.
The MAC had a solid season as well as all six teams that appeared at the MAC Tournament all went on to a postseason tournament. MAC Champion Bowling Green and MAC Runner-Up Ball State made it to the NCAA Tournament. Buffalo, Central Michigan, Ohio, and Toledo made it into the 32-team field for the NIVC.
All-time, Buffalo is 1-1 against Boston College. In their first meeting on August 30, 2003, the Eagles won 3-1. On August 28, 2009, Buffalo was victorious in a 3-0 sweep.
