Bulls Host Bowling Green with Huge MAC Tournament Implications

BUFFALO, N.Y. – University at Buffalo women's volleyball team (17-10, 9-6 MAC) will host the Bowling Green Falcons (17-9, 12-3 MAC) this Friday and Saturday at Alumni Arena. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+ with Friday beginning at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Buffalo is one of the hottest teams entering the weekend as they have won six straight matches. The only team with a longer win streak is Ball State with 13.
Currently, the Bulls are tied for fourth in the MAC standings with Toledo and Central Michigan. The Bowling Green Falcons are in second place in the MAC. The top-six teams will advance to the MAC Tournament. The final three matches of the regular season will be at home, as UB will host the Akron Zips next Wednesday on Senior Day.
Katin Trebichavska leads the Bulls with 260 kills on the season. Abby Leigh is second on the team with 214 kills with an overall hitting percentage of .379, good for second in the MAC and 37th in the NCAA. A. Leigh has stacked up 307.5 points this season. At the net, A. Leigh has been a force to be reckoned with. She has 101 total blocks on the season. Libero Maria Futey has 334 digs on the season with 3.37 digs per set. Mandy Leigh continues to rack up assists as she's up to 925 (10.63 assists per set). M. Leigh is 29th in the NCAA in assists per set.
In the newest NCAA RPI Rankings, the Bulls come in at No. 113 out of 345 programs. Bowling Green is No. 59, the second-best in the MAC behind Ball state who is No. 58.
