Gielas Named MAC East Offensive Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced their weekly volleyball honors on Wednesday afternoon. Emma Gielas was named MAC East Offensive Player of the Week.
Gielas helped the Bulls on their offensive attack in the 3-0 win over Akron. Gielas racked up a team-high 12 kills for an average of 4.00 per set. She finished with a .379 attack percentage. At the net she had one solo block and two block assists. She led the team with 14.0 points in the match against Akron.
This is the second weekly honor for Gielas this season. Mandy Leigh was named MAC East Setter of the Week four times as Maria Futey was named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week once.
The Bulls are back in action on Sunday, Nov. 20 as the team takes on the Ohio Bobcats in the quarterfinals of the MAC Tournament.
