
Bulls Welcome Ball State To Alumni Arena on Wednesday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's basketball team will play its third game in five days as they open a two-game homestand against Ball State on Wednesday night. It is faculty/staff appreciation night at Alumni Arena with a special $7 ticket offer for all faculty and staff on campus.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Paul Peck (play-by-play) and Brian Koziol (color) announcing and can be heard on the radio on ESPN 1520 AM or on the Varsity Network with Matt Mattia on the call.
Buffalo is 11-6 overall and 5-2 in league play after dropping a close contest at Ohio on Monday night. Four Bulls scored in double figures on the night, led by freshman Georgia Woolley who scored 15 points. Senior Adebola Adeyeye recorded her second double-double in three games with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Summer Hemphill just missed out on a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Junior guard Dyaisha Fair also scored in double figures with 10 points.
Fair leads the Bulls and ranks seventh in the nation in scoring at 22.2 points per game. Hemphill is averaging just under a double-double with 15.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while Woolley has scored in double figures in 11 of the last 12 games and is averaging 10.8 points per game. Buffalo is distributing the basketball at an excellent clip, averaging 15.6 assists per game and a 1.10 assist-to-turnover ratio, both ranking in the top 50 nationally while also ranking 41st with a +4.2 turnover margin. That leads to a potent offense which ranks 24th in the nation in scoring (75.9 ppg). The Bulls are ranked 66th in the latest NET rankings. They are also ranked 14th in the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 poll.
Ball State enters Wednesday's contest with an 11-7 overall record and 3-2 league mark after defeating Miami (OH) 67-64 on Monday. The Cardinals are led offensively by Anna Clephane who is averaging 16.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. Thelma Dis Agustdottir (10.5 ppg, 4.3 rpg) is also averaging in double figures while Sydney Freeman is chipping in 9.8 points and 4.1 assists per game. Clephane has not played since she was injured against Kent State on January 9th. The Cardinals were picked to finish ninth in the MAC preseason poll after finishing sixth in the league with a 12-8 MAC record a season ago. They added three true freshman and four transfers to last year's squad. Ball State currently rank 16th in the nation in three-point field goals per game (8.9) and also ranks in the top-20 in three-point field goals made (161) and attempted (504). The Cardinals also own a 1.11 assist to turnover ratio, good for 42nd nationally.
