
Bulls Open Three-Game Week at Ohio on Monday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's basketball team will play its second game in three days and second straight road contest as they travel to Athens, Ohio for a clash with the Ohio Bobcats at the Convocation Center on Monday at 7pm. The game will feature the Mid-American Conference's leading scorers in Buffalo's Dyaisha Fair and Ohio's CeCe Hooks.
The game will be streamed on ESPN3 and can be heard on the radio on ESPN 1520 AM or on the Varsity Network with Matt Mattia on the call.
Buffalo is 11-5 overall and 5-1 in league play after dropping its first Mid-American Conference game at Toledo on Saturday afternoon. The Bulls were led by Summer Hemphill who recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard Dyaisha Fair added 14 points and three assists while freshman Georgia Woolley scored in double figures for the 10th time in 11 games with 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
Fair leads the Bulls and ranks sixth in the nation in scoring at 22.9 points per game. Hemphill is averaging just under a double-double with 15.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while Woolley has scored in double figures in 10 of the last 11 games and is averaging 10.5 points per game. Buffalo is distributing the basketball at an excellent clip, averaging 15.7 assists per game and a 1.1 assist-to-turnover ratio, both ranking in the top 50 nationally while also ranking 37th with a +4.4 turnover margin. That leads to a potent offense which ranks 23rd in the nation in scoring (76.6 ppg). The Bulls are ranked 62nd in the latest NET rankings. They are also ranked 14th in the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 poll.
Ohio enters Monday's contest with a 9-5 overall record, including 5-0 at the Convocation Center, and 3-2 league mark after defeating Bowing Green 85-70 on Saturday. The Bobcats are led offensively by CeCe Hooks who is averaging 22.9 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Erica Johnson (17.9 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 5.2 apg) and Gabby Burris (14.9 ppg, 5.8 rpg) are also scoring in double figures. Hook's became the MAC's all-time leading scorer in Ohio's win over Bowling Green and is also the program's all-time leading scorer with 2,518 career points. The Bobcats lead the MAC and rank 16th in the nation in scoring offense (78.0) and rank first in the MAC and 13th nationally in three-point field goals made per game (9.2).
