Olivia DeBortoli Named MAC East Defensive Player Of The Week

BUFFALO, NY – After sparking the Bulls to a big comeback on Saturday morning, University at Buffalo volleyball middle blocker Olivia DeBortoli has been named the MAC East Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
DeBortoli came in off the bench in the second set against Troy and finished with nine blocks, as the Bulls came back to defeat the Trojans, 3-2. DeBortoli averaged 2.25 blocks per set and saved some of her best performances for the fifth set where she contributed blocks on four straight points as UB built an 8-1 lead.
The nine block assists are the most by a MAC player this season.
Buffalo returns to action when it hosts the WNY Invite beginning on Friday at 6pm against Duquesne.
