Milla Malik Named Preseason All-MAC

BUFFALO, NY – The Mid-American Conference announced their preseason All-MAC team and preseason poll on Tuesday morning and representing the Bulls on the preseason East Division team is sophomore Milla Malik.
As a freshman last season, Malik was named to the All-MAC Second and All-MAC freshman team as she led the Bulls in kills (226) and finished amongst the conference leaders in kills per set (3.37). Malik reached double figures in kills in 13 of the final 14 matches of the season, including a career high of 23 kills, which were recorded twice in back-to-back matches against Toledo and Akron. Overall, she finished with six double-doubles in 16 matches player.
As a team, the Bulls were picked to finish in sixth place in the East Division. The Bulls return 13 members from last year's team, while adding three talented newcomers to the mix. As one of the youngest teams in the nation last year, UB continued to improve through out the season, winning three of its final seven matches in the COVID-19 shortened season.
Buffalo begins the 2021 campaign this weekend at the Syracuse Invite beginning with the host Orange on Friday morning at 11am.
