
Bulls Host Kent State in Midweek Doubleheader on Wednesday

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo softball team welcomes Kent State for a midweek doubleheader at Nan Harvey Field on Wednesday. Weather permitting, game one will begin at 1pm with game two following approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
The Bulls split their series at Central Michigan last weekend. After dropping the first two games the Bulls took game three 6-3 and dominated from start to finish in a 10-1 victory in the series finale to earn the series split. The Bulls also set a new single-season program record as they have now hit 39 home runs off the bats of nine different players, besting the previous mark of 36 set by the 2016 Bulls.
Buffalo is being led at the plate by Anna Aguon who owns a .345 batting average to go with a team-best 38 hits, six doubles, seven home runs, 23 RBI and 24 runs scored, while also recording a .609 slugging percentage and .455 on base percentage. Freshman Rachel Steffan is batting .300 with 30 hits, three doubles, three home runs, 15 RBI and 18 runs scored while recording a .451 on base percentage and junior Alexis Matheney is batting is batting .287 with 31 hits, four doubles, five home runs, 22 RBI and 23 runs scored. Graduate student Ally Marcano leads UB in the circle with a 5-10 overall record, 5.27 ERA and 66 strikeouts in 79.2 innings of work. Sophomore Alexis Lucyshyn owns a 4-6 overall record and has a 5.63 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 59.2 innings pitched.
Kent State enters the weekend with a 16-19 overall record and a 12-9 league mark after taking three of four games at Bowling Green over the weekend. The Golden Flashes are led offensively by Kennadie Goth who is batting .412 with 40 hits, six RBI and 19 runs scored while recording a .442 on base percentage. Brooklyn Whitt is batting .404 with a 42 hits, eight doubles, 12 RBI and 23 runs scored. Jessica LeBeau leads Kent State in the circle, compiling a 10-9 overall record with a 3.50 ERA and 147 strikeouts in 118.1 innings of work.
Following Wednesday's games, Buffalo will continue the homestand with a four-game series against Northern Illinois, beginning on Friday at Nan Harvey Field.
