
Bulls Travel to Western Michigan This Weekend

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo softball team travels to Western Michigan for a four-game series with the Broncos at Ebert Field this weekend.
The weekend will begin with a 3pm game on Friday followed by a doubleheader at 1pm/3pm on Saturday. The weekend will conclude with a 12pm game on Sunday.
The Bulls dropped a pair of games to Toledo in a home-opening weekend series that was shortened due to inclement weather.
Buffalo is being led at the plate by senior Anna Aguon who owns a .271 batting average to go with 13 hits, two doubles, two home runs, seven RBI and eight runs scored, while also recording a .458 slugging percentage and .407 on base percentage. Junior Alexis Matheney is batting .260 with 13 hits, a double, home run, team-best 10 RBI and six runs scored with a .387 on base percentage. Graduate student Ally Marcano leads UB in the circle as she has a 3-6 overall record with a 6.90 ERA and has struck out 40 batters to just 24 walks in 45.2 innings of work. Sophomore Madelyn Hickingbottom has recorded 20 strikeouts across 34.1 innings of work in 11 appearances this season.
Western Michigan enters the weekend with a 6-15 overall record and 2-6 league mark after losing three of four games at Ohio last weekend. The Broncos are led offensively by Sydney Stefanick who is batting .404 with 23 hits, including two doubles and four home runs, 18 RBI and eight runs scored while recording a .649 slugging and .469 on base percentage. Mackenzie Swinehart is batting .369 with a team-best 27 hits, three doubles, three home runs, seven RBI and a team-best 17 runs scored while slugging .554. Reily Galloway leads Western Michigan in the circle with a 4.67 ERA and 45 strikeouts to just 22 walks in 48.0 innings of work across 12 appearances.
After the weekend series, the Bulls will conclude their road trip with a doubleheader at Syracuse on Tuesday, April 6 beginning at 1pm.
