BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo volleyball team hits the road one final time this spring on Tuesday night when the Bulls face Akron at 7pm at Rhodes Arena. The Bulls defeated Akron, 3-0, in Buffalo last week.
Buffalo dropped a pair of contests at Toledo this past weekend in five and four sets, respectively, but had some solid performances, led by a career high 23 kills from Milla Malik in four sets on Saturday. Malik leads the Bulls with 3.68 kills per set as she joins fellow classmate Emma Gielas as the top two offensive producers for UB.
Junior Kyndal Bacon continues to run an efficient Buffalo offense as she had 38 assists in the three set win last Tuesday and had 48 assists in the four set match on Saturday. Bacon averages 8.43 assists per set and is second on the team in digs.
Defensively, sophomore Jenna Sonnenberg leads the team in digs with 247. Senior Lexi Nordmann had 17 kills against Toledo and leads the Bulls in block per set at 0.80. Sophomore Courtney Okwara has a team-high 47.0 blocks.
Akron is 4-15 on the season after a pair of losses against undefeated Bowling Green. However, the Zips sent the first match with the Falcons into five set and the second into four sets.
Tuesday night's match will air on ESPN+.
