
Bulls Drop Weekend Finale At Toledo, 3-1

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo volleyball team completed its weekend series at Toledo with a 3-1 loss on Saturday afternoon.
Toledo took the match 25-10, 21-25, 27-25, 25-22 as the Rockets outhit Buffalo, .295 to .234. After a tough first set, the UB offense got going, hitting over .250 for the final three sets.
UB overcame a 20-14 deficit in the second set, as the Bulls scored 11 of the final 12 points of the set tying the match up.
Freshman Milla Malik set a new career high with 23 kills in the match as she had just five errors on 45 swings, hitting .400 on the afternoon. Junior Monika Simkova added a season high 13 kills, while freshman Emma Gielas finished with 11 kills. Junior Kyndal Bacon finished the afternoon with 48 assists.
Defensively, three players finished in double figures in digs led by 16 from sophomore Jenna Sonnenberg, while Simkova and Malik both completed double-doubles with 13 and 11 digs, respectively.
Sophomore Courtney Okwara had a team-high four blocks, including three solos.
Buffalo completes its three-match road trip on Tuesday night against Akron at 7pm. It will be the final road contest of the year for UB.
