BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo volleyball team returns to the road for their next two matches as the Bulls will face Ohio on Thursday and Friday. The first match on Thursday will begin at 6:30 pm followed by a 2pm start on Friday.
The Bulls are still in search of their first victory of the season following a pair of losses to Kent State last weekend. This will mark the first time this season, now in the fourth week of competition, that the Bulls will play a team not undefeated at the time of their matches.
UB continues to be led offensively by freshman Emma Gielas and sophomore Abby Leigh, who have 49 and 44 kills, respectively. In all, five Buffalo players have 24 or more kills so far on the season.
Defensively, sophomore Courtney Okwara continues to pace the Buffalo blocking attack with 13.0 total blocks, but redshirt freshman Olivia DeBortoli has come on as of late and has 10 blocks in just nine sets.
Ohio enters the matches 2-2 as they split two-match series with Central Michigan and Akron. The Bobcats had two of their matches postponed. Ohio is being led by its freshman libero Sam Steele, who has twice been named the MAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Thursday's match will air on ESPN3, while Friday's match will air on ESPN+.
