
Bulls Travel to Princeton on Tuesday

BUFFALO, NY – Winners of five straight, the University at Buffalo women's basketball team travels to Princeton, NJ for their first true road game of the season, a clash with the Princeton Tigers at Jadwin Gymnasium on Tuesday at 7pm. It is the first of a two-game road swing to close out non-conference play and the first meeting between the Bulls and Tigers.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Jon Mozes (play-by-play) and Dei Lynam (color) announcing and can be heard on the radio on ESPN 1520AM or on the Varsity Network with Matt Mattia on the call.
Buffalo is coming off a thrilling 62-60 win over VCU as freshman Georgia Woolley hit a runner as time expired to lift the Bulls to victory. Junior guard Dyaisha Fair led all scorers with 22 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter, to go with four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Summer Hemphill had another big game with 13 points and nine rebounds and Woolley finished with 11 points. Buffalo continued to turn defense into offense as they scored 19 points off VCU turnovers and added 15 fastbreak points while also scoring 24 points in the paint. The Bulls are ranked 43rd in the latest NET rankings, the highest of any MAC schools.
Princeton enters Tuesday's contest with a 6-3 overall record after falling to Seton Hall 70-60 on Saturday. They are 40th in the NET rankings. The Tigers are led offensively by Abby Meyers who is averaging 18.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Julia Cunningham (14.2 ppg, 6.8 rpg) and Grace Stone (10.0 ppg, 4.4 rpg) are also averaging in double figures. Princeton was picked first in the Ivy League preseason poll, collecting 12 of 16 first place votes, after winning the third Ivy crown in the last four years in 2019-20. The Tigers lead the Ivy League and rank 33rd in the nation in scoring defense (53.8) and 29th in three-point field goal percentage defense (24.2). They have given up 10 points or less in 12 quarters this season with at least one in seven of nine games.
