BUFFALO, NY – Head volleyball coach Scott Smith has announced the addition of Kyndal Bacon and Emilie Davis for the upcoming season. Bacon comes from Colby Community College and will have two years of eligibility left, while Davis is a native of Oceanside, CA and will come in as a true freshman.
Bacon played two seasons at Colby Community College, where she was named to the All-League First Team in each of her two seasons there. The 5-foot-8 sophomore setter from Newton, KS played in all 31 matches and totaled 1,052 assists this past season. She ranked third in the West with 9.23 assists per set and was the conference setter of the week three times. She amassed 2,058 assists in her CCC career, the third-most in program history.
Bacon played high school volleyball at Newton High School where she was first-team All-Conference as both a junior and a senior.
"Kyndal is a great addition to the UB family this Spring," said Smith. "She had two strong seasons running a 5-1 offense at Colby CC. She attacks and blocks well for her size, but what is most impressive is her speed to the ball and defense."
A San Diego and AVCA All-Academic selection, Davis played her high school volleyball at Vista High School where she earned three letters. As a senior, Davis had 475 digs and 67 aces as she was named first-team All-League as well as her team's most valuable player.
"Emilie will add great depth to our defensive unit," said Smith. "She is quick and strong with great platform control. Playing in a very competitive Southern California region will help prepare her well for this coming fall."
Bacon and Davis join a Buffalo team that has already welcomed four other players during the early signing period: Milla Malik, Lauren Valentic, Stacia Gollogly, and Emma Gielas.
