Jandu and Barberic Named to USC All-Region Team

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo women's soccer standouts Gurjeena Jandu and Marcy Barberic were named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's All-Midwest Region Team on Monday. Jandu was named to the first team while Barberic earned third team honors.
Jandu was the catalyst for a strong UB defense as she helped the Bulls secure six clean sheets on the season while holding opponents to 1.05 goals-against per game. The senior captain also contributed on the offensive end, recording one goal and three assists on 13 shots in 18 starts for the Bulls. Also a four-time All-MAC selection, Jandu proved to be one of the best defenders in the conference in her four years in Buffalo.
This is the first regional honor for Barberic. The junior captain led the Bulls offense this season, recording six goals and three assists on a team-best 62 shots while starting all 20 games for the UB this season. Barberic earned second team All-MAC honors for the first time in her UB career.
"This is great recognition for two exceptional players in our program," said head coach Shawn Burke. "As team captains, both Gurjeena and Marcy exemplify everything we look for in a student-athlete. They have put the work in their entire careers and deserve the rewards for their efforts."
