Jandu Named to United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-East Region First Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University at Buffalo women's soccer senior Gurjeena Jandu has been named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division 1 Women's Scholar All-East Region First Team, as announced by the organization Monday afternoon.
"Gurjeena was a true leader both on and off the field during her career here at UB," said head coach Shawn Burke. "The accolades keep rolling in and are beyond deserved for this amazing student-athlete."
An exercise science major with a 3.418 GPA, Jandu was the catalyst for a strong UB defense as she helped the Bulls secure six clean sheets on the season while holding opponents to 1.05 goals-against per game. The senior captain also contributed on the offensive end, recording one goal and three assists on 13 shots in 18 starts for the Bulls. Also a four-time All-MAC, three-time Academic All-MAC and 2019 First Team All-Midwest Region selection, Jandu proved to be one of the best defenders in the conference in her four years in Buffalo.
