Volleyball Adds Four For 2020 Season

BUFFALO, NY – Head volleyball coach Scott Smith has announced the addition of four student-athletes who signed their National Letters of Intent during the recent signing period. These four players will suit up for the Bulls beginning with the 2020 season.
Milla Malik, 5-10, Outside Hitter, Waunakee, WI
Malik has earned four varsity letters at Waunakee High School where she amassed 1,307 career kills, 1,097 digs, 210 aces, and 202 blocks. She was a unanimous selection as the Badger North Player of the Year and first-team All-Conference as a senior, while also earning first-team honors as a junior. During her senior season, Malik was also a first-team All-State selection.
Scott Smith on Milla Malik – Milla is a very dynamic attacker and will make an immediate impact in our gym and help to fill the absences of our two graduating outsides. I have been very impressed with Milla's development in the back row over the past three years, and having her for an entire spring to train with us before the Fall season will be invaluable.
Lauren Valentic, 6-2, Middle Blocker, Canonsburg, PA
Valentic earned four letters at Peters Township High School, where she finished with 294 kills (5.07/set) and 87 blocks (1.5/set) during her senior season. She is the school's all-time leader in single-season and career blocks and she has been an All-Section team member for three years and an All-Big 56 First Team member twice. Valentic guided her team to two playoff berths, while also qualifying for nationals as a member of the Renaissance Volleyball Club, the same club in which former head coach Blair Brown Lipsitz was a member.
Scott Smith on Lauren Valentic – Lauren is incredibly quick, laterally and off the ground, making her an exceptional blocker. She has a very high ceiling and will drastically raise the level of competition in the gym.
Stacia Gollogly, 6-1, Outside Hitter/Right Side, Boonsboro, MD
Gollogly has been a four-year member and two-year captain at Boonsboro High School in Maryland where she recorded 223 kills, 86 digs, 16 blocks, and 36 aces as a senior. She was named first-team All-Conference as a junior and senior and second-team All-Conference as a sophomore.
Scott Smith on Stacia Gollogly – Stacia is a huge blocker and has a very high contact point offensively. She is equally strong hitting and blocking from the left or right pin and her versatility will provide us with a lot of line-up possibilities.
Emma Gielas, 6-0, Right Side, Loveland, OH
Gielas has played in 206 sets at Ursuline Academy where she has 640 kills, 125 blocks, and 78 digs as she earned first-team All-Conference accolades as a senior and second-team honors as a junior. Gielas, was also named third-team All-State during her senior year, and earned All-Tournament team status as a member of the Elevation Volleyball Club.
Scott Smith on Emma Gielas – Emma is a terminal lefty attacker and has truly exceled as an opposite at the high school and club levels. Her coachability and consistency will allow her to transition well to the challenges of MAC play.
