BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's soccer team was recognized by the United Soccer Coaches on Thursday for their academic success during the 2018-19 academic year. The Bulls were one of 646 college women's programs named as a recipient of the Team Academic Award, doing so for the ninth straight season.
"Being recognized for this award has become the standard for our program and exemplifies the type of student-athletes we have and how much they value their education," said head coach Shawn Burke.
Buffalo earned a team GPA of 3.24 for the 2018-19 season and were one of 11 MAC teams honored with the academic award and one of two MAC schools to earn the award nine straight seasons.
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.
