Bulls Drop Woo Pig Classic Finale

FAYETEVILLE, AR – The University at Buffalo softball team lost its final game at the Woo Pig Classic on Sunday morning as the Bulls lost to Northern Iowa 10-1 in five innings. The loss drops UB to 4-10 on the year while UNI picked up its 15th win of the season.
The Bulls actually got on the board first in the top of the second as sophomore Danielle Lallos hit a one-out triple down the left field line and she came in to score on a single through the right side by fellow sophomore Sara Edwards.
Northern Iowa scored five in the bottom of the second including a pair of two-run home runs and then the Panthers had another five-run inning in the bottom of the fourth, which included another pair of home runs.
Freshman Ally Power picked up the loss for UB. The Bulls had five hits in the contest, including two more from freshman Katie Weimer. In addition to the hits by Lallos and Edwards in the second inning, UB also got a base hit from Ashton Earnhardt in that inning when Buffalo stranded the bases loaded.
The Bulls will return to action next weekend when they head down to Myrtle Beach, SC for the Chanticleer Challenge at Coastal Carolina.
