HAMMOND, LA – The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York softball team concluded its opening weekend with an 8-0 loss to Southern Illinois on Sunday. The loss drops the Bulls to 1-4 on the year.

UB had three hits as Savanna Norcio and Ashton Earnhardt each recorded hits in addition to the Edwards double.
"I saw some great this this weekend and I saw some things that we need to work on," said head coach Trena Peel. "We fought ever game and caught some bad break today in the last one. We will keep working hard and we will be ready for our next tournament.
